Dean has been coding perl since way back when (mid 90's). Although he has not authored any books, he has done work for lots of small companies and big organisations like Local Government, Optus, recently Amazon and even less obvious companies like Reece (plumbing supplies).

As a partner in ByteFoundry, he provides consulation & development in perl and infrastructure for general medium business as well as very large data centre's.

Dean fancies himself as zealot of Toyota style lean infrastructure and software philosophy.

Historically he was involved in the Sydney Linux Users Group, but has focused more recently on involvement with the Sydney Perl Mongers Group.

Damian Conway

Uri Bruck has been using Perl since 1997. For several years worked as Head of Software Dept. for an ISP, where he was involved with all stages of development, from inception, through design and implementation, to deployment. Currently a freelance developer and consultant. As a freelance was he was involved in development of web application, web services, testing automation. Besides being a programmer Uri is also an English-Hebrew translator, and has some experience in technical writing.

He has translated several Perl-Maven articles to Hebrew.

Felipe has a PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, he uses Perl mainly for software development and data analysis dedicated to biological data interpretation.

He started in 2011 the Curitiba Perl Mongers group and is also the cofounder of Hexabio where he offers training and consultancy in Bioinformatics.

Felipe is an active member of the brazilian Perl community, was also the responsible for the YAPC::Brazil 2013 and is involved in the Portuguese translations of Perl Maven articles.
